Absolutely. The kit was put together with complete beginners in mind. Inside you'll find a step-by-step guide that covers everything from mixing your resin to demoulding your finished coasters – including tips, safety guidance and FAQs. If you've never touched resin before, you're in exactly the right place.
Your coasters will be ready to demould after 24 hours. Leave them a little longer – around 72 hours – and they'll be fully heat-resistant and ready to use properly. So pour in the evening, sleep on it, and you'll have finished coasters by the following day.
Each kit contains 1L of resin – enough to make 10 full-sized coasters. You get four silicone moulds, so you can work in batches and build up a lovely set over a few sessions.
Yes. The resin is low odour, VOC and solvent-free, and food safe. We recommend working in a ventilated space and wearing the nitrile gloves included in the kit – both good habits to get into from the start.
No. Everything is in the box. Moulds, stirrers, jugs, gloves, colours and a guide are all included. There's nothing extra to buy before you get started.
Yes – and it's one of the best bits. The kit comes with six mica powder colours and a pouch of gold foil to get you started. You can also press dried flowers, leaves, or other decorations into your resin before it sets to make each coaster completely your own. Just ensure anything you embed contains no moisture and is totally dry.
Resin needs to be mixed before use, so any unused mixed resin will cure and can't be saved. However, the unmixed resin and hardener in the bottles can be kept for future pours – just make sure the lids are on tightly and store them somewhere cool and dry.
Very. The resin is heat resistant up to 90°C, scratch resistant, and UV resistant – so they won't yellow over time. Your finished coasters are built to last and hold up well to everyday use.
When developing mouldd resin our key focus was on clarity. We have extensively tested mouldd resin over time periods of 36+ months and seen no yellowing.
Anti-yellowing is one of mouldd resin's key qualities.
